Prioritizing Communication In Marriage
Good communication in marriage can be challenging to achieve at times, and prioritizing it even more so! Here are some ways to help you give precedence to good communication in your marriage:
Be Intentional.
It will not happen by accident but takes intentionality. Set aside 10-15 minutes each day to debrief and let each other in by sharing your thoughts, feelings, opinions, solutions to problems, and heart.
Be Committed.
It will not occur with indifference but a commitment to its importance. Stay committed to your decision to open up to each other daily about big and small things occurring in your lives.
Be Consistent.
It does not take place instantaneously but requires consistency. Keep your daily communication a top priority, and do not let the busyness of life let it fall by the wayside.
Good and healthy communication in your marriage always promotes unity and closeness while helping prevent discord and misunderstandings. These are some of the reasons why it must be placed in high priority in your relationship.
If you struggle in this area, you are not alone. But be encouraged because today is a new day and, with it comes the opportunity to turn things around.
