About Kris

Kris’ passion for God’s Word began when she heard the gospel and trusted Jesus for her salvation at twenty years old. Having previously believed being a “good person” would grant her access into heaven, she has since been driven to help others understand God’s Word and the gospel, trust Jesus by faith for salvation, and grow in their relationship with Him.

Kris and her husband, Joe, were married in 1988 and served as missionaries in Hong Kong for the first five months of their marriage. Upon returning to the United States, they worked hand-in-hand on Skid Row at Fred Jordan Missions in Los Angeles, California.

In 1992, while Joe was earning his degree in Pastoral Ministry/Theology and Counseling, Kris studied biblical hermeneutics and theology at Azusa Pacific University and Life Pacific University. Her objectives were to feed her insatiable hunger for understanding theology, satisfy her cravings for Biblical knowledge, and study hermeneutics.

In 1997, seven days after the birth of their first child, Joe and Kris resigned from Fred Jordan Missions. They moved to the Coachella Valley to respond to God’s call to minister to impoverished children and families.

In 2000, they welcomed their second child and, in 2001, founded Jordan Outreach Ministries International, a Christian, non-profit, 501(c)3 ministry.

In 2018, Jesus called Joe and Kris also to lead Fred Jordan Missions. With both ministries under their leadership, they split their time between Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley “Declaring and Demonstrating the Love of Jesus” through both organizations.

In addition to working with her husband, Kris is an author, a Bible studies teacher, and a passionate defender of the faith. She is also the creator of ScriptureSubjects.net, an apologetics website for helping believers understand biblical truth and contend for the Christian faith. Kris has also been a volunteer writer for Got Questions Ministries since 2017. Kris’ unrelenting appetite and passion for God’s Word continue to fuel her calling to teach, disciple, and mentor others in the faith.

In her spare time, Kris enjoys hiking and exploring nature, fishing, horseback riding, playing board games, and spending time with her husband, whom she has never spent a night apart in over 30 years.

A “Taste” of My Story

I grew up in a very close and loving family but did not know Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Throughout my teenage years, I believed that as long as I was a “good person,” I would go to heaven. That all changed the day I met my husband, Joe Jordan, at the age of nineteen.

When Joe shared the gospel with me and gave me my first Bible, the spiritual battle for my soul began. Although Jesus was using His Word powerfully to reveal the truth and convict me of my sins, Satan was on a mission to keep me bound and destined for hell. There were nights when I felt a demonic presence so strongly in my bedroom; I thought Satan would reach up from under my bed, grab my ankle, and yank me down to the pit of hell. A short while later, I strongly sensed that if I did not surrender my life to Jesus and trust Him for my salvation, I would die. Not eventually — but immediately. That was frightening.

After three months of the Holy Spirit lovingly calling, convicting, and convincing me to trust Jesus, Joe’s dad (Fred Jordan, founder of Fred Jordan Missions) helped me repent of my sins and invite Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Afterward, Fred told me something that would also significantly impact the rest of my life. He said, “Kris, you need to be in the Word and stay in the Word.”

Joe rededicated his life back to Jesus that same night, having been on the run from Him and his own calling into the ministry for several years. However, before he did, Satan had Joe so bound with condemnation, guilt, and shame — he could not speak to repent no matter how desperately he tried. After several hours of prayerful intercession by his dad and mom, God sovereignly and humorously used me, a newborn Christian, to help set Joe free. That was December 8, 1988.

Since that life-transforming day, God has given me an unrelenting hunger and passion for His Word, the Gospel, and defending the Christian faith against falsehood. This zeal drives my calling to help others experience Jesus and the life-changing power of His Word.
