Squelching “The Fear Of Failure"

Fear is a powerful weapon.  Satan uses it to deter and detract us from using our spiritual gifts because it works, repeatedly!

The fear of failure masquerades in various forms but is always strategically designed to keep us from being used by Jesus with the spiritual gifts entrusted to us.

Here are five ways to help you use your gifts without “the fear of failure” getting in the way:

  1. Trust the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit gave you gifts with the promise to empower and equip you to use them for God’s glory.  You cannot fail when you trust Him to do what He promised when using your gifts.

  2. Trust your Calling.

Jesus placed burdens and passions in your heart for ministering to others because He plans to use you in those areas.  You cannot fail when you do what He has called you to do.

  3. Trust Your Uniqueness.

Jesus created you as a unique individual, different from everyone else.  You cannot fail when you use your gifts according to who God made you, even if it looks different than the way someone else uses the same gift.

  4. Expect Opposition.

Not everyone will be happy that Jesus uses you to bless and minister to others.  You cannot fail by refusing to allow others’ rejection or criticism to keep you from obeying Jesus with your gifts and calling.

  5. Leave the Results Up to God.

Jesus is responsible for calling, convicting, transforming, healing, and saving individuals.  You cannot fail by obeying God with your gifts when you leave the outcome up to Him.

We can all fall into the trap of allowing the “fear of failure” to keep us in our comfort zone.  Genuine failure only happens if we stay there.
