Three Ways Jesus Helps Us Obey His Word

I know it can feel overwhelming at times trying to obey God’s Word every step of the way. But Jesus is there to help us by giving us:

  •  The faith to obey Him

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ” (Hebrews 10:17).

“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:1b-2a).

  • The strength to obey Him

“The Lord is my strength and song” (Exodus 15:2).

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

  • The power to obey Him

“His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3a).

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

All we need to do is ask for His help!

It is easy to talk ourselves out of spending time reading God’s Word each day.  But feeding our spirit with His life-giving Word fuels us to live godly lives of obedience.  Remember: “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man [or woman] of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
