Four Ways To Stay Consistent With Jesus
We all start our faith journey so strong, having the best intentions to preserve our spiritual intimacy and euphoria with Jesus. But then, life kicks in and often throws us off course from achieving those goals.
Here are four ways to help you remain consistent in your relationship with Jesus:
Pray in the Morning.
Start each day by talking to Jesus and committing your day to Him. This act helps put your focus on Jesus and demonstrates a willingness to submit to His governance throughout your daily activities.
Read One Chapter.
God primarily speaks to us through His written Word, the Bible. Take time to read at least one chapter of the New Testament daily, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to your spirit through what is written.
Listen to Worship Music.
Hearing and singing songs of worship and adoration nourishes our spirit. It also shifts our attention to God’s holiness, goodness, and glory, which are catalysts for evoking spiritual intimacy with Him.
Repent Regularly.
We all sin knowingly and unknowingly each day. Confess your sins to God each day, agreeing with Him that they are wrong, and repent by honoring Him through your words and actions moving forward.
Consistency with Jesus starts with a decision followed closely by action. The Bible says in James 4:8, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
