5 Steps To Overcome Sinful Habits
As believers, we often struggle with knowing how to overcome sinful habits. When we feel powerless to change them, we inevitably repeat the same patterns over and over again.
Here are five simple steps to help you overcome sinful habits and gain victory:
Acknowledge Them (Psalm 51:3)
Agree with Jesus that your behavior is wrong and displeases Him.
Confess Them (1 John 1:9)
Tell Jesus you have sinned against Him and were wrong for indulging your sinful desires.
Repent (Acts 26:20)
Change your mind about your sinful actions and turn away from pursuing them and pursue godliness in their place.
Feed Your Spirit (Psalm 119:11)
Read your Bible every day to nourish your spirit, strengthen your faith, and learn what pleases Jesus.
Seek Accountability (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Connect with other Christians who can pray for you and help keep you accountable to your goals.
Remember, no matter how difficult your struggle is, the Holy Spirit is ready and waiting to help you overcome it as you surrender your sins to Jesus.
