Five Ways To Start Impacting Others

Using your gifts does not have to be complicated.  But it needs to be intentional.  We cannot idly sit on our hands, waiting for Jesus to part the skies.  We must prayerfully and actively engage ourselves in using our gifts faithfully.

Here are some practical things to do every day:

  • Pray for Discernment and Wisdom.

Pray for the discernment to distinguish Jesus’ voice from all the others (including your own), and pray for the wisdom in “how” He wants you to utilize your gifts today.

  • Push Through Your Fears.

Walking by faith is not void of fear.  It is the courage to push through those fears to reach the goal in Christ Jesus.  When fears arise, rev up your faith engine and drive through the roadblocks to your destination.

  • Put Your “Car in Drive” and Go!

Actively pursue and act on opportunities to use your spiritual gifts.  If you make a “left turn” instead of a “right turn” as you navigate, do not worry.  The Holy Spirit is the best GPS available and will redirect your path if you make a mistake following directions.

  • Do Not Wait For 100% Clarity.

Jesus typically will not provide His “Five-Step Plan” in advance before expecting us to act.  He gives us enough of what we need “now” and expects us to obey what He has shown us to do.

  • Take the Pressure Off of Yourself.

You are not responsible for the outcome or results of using your gifts.  You are only responsible for faithfully administering them as Jesus leads you.  Put your focus on ministering with your gifts and let Jesus handle the rest.

Have you overcomplicated what it looks like to be used by God?   Which of these examples you will implement this week?
