When You Feel Alone In Your Calling
Are you hesitant to fulfill your calling because nobody around you shares your passion?
When I first became a Christian at 20 years old, every other believer in my inner circle shared the identical calling: to serve the poor and homeless. Naturally, I adopted their mission and purpose because my heart wanted everything Jesus had to offer.
A fistful of years later, I began experiencing an undeniable passion for apologetics and defending the faith against falsehood, which were vastly different than my inner circle’s calling. Excitedly, I started ministering in these areas despite being the only one around me with this specific burden.
I share this example because it can be intimidating to possess a calling that differs significantly from those around you. It may also evoke a hesitation to fulfill your calling when others show indifference toward the things that stir you.
But Jesus did not make a mistake when He planted an unrelenting burden in your heart to act upon for His glory. Neither did He falter when giving you spiritual gifts intended to help you fulfill your God-ordained purpose and calling. The only thing He is waiting for is your obedience.
Are you ready, or do you need prayer or encouragement to go for it? Let me know in the comments.
