Jesus' "Love Language" is Quality Time

Have you ever wondered how to become like those who know Jesus so intimately?

The night I was born-again at 20 years old, I felt so clueless about Jesus.  I was not raised in a Christian home, so I did not have a foundation in the Word or much knowledge about God.  On the one hand, I am grateful for my naivety because it gave Jesus a blank slate to build upon.  On the other hand, my blank slate made me feel “behind in the game,” like I had a lot of catching up to do.

Early on in my faith, I learned that knowing Jesus more intimately resulted from spending quality time with Him consistently – and there are no short-cuts around it.

Quality time with Jesus involves:

• Reading our Bible regularly

• Talking to Him throughout our day

• Hearing His Word taught by gifted teachers

• Obeying what God’s Word says

• Confessing our sins daily

• Fellowshipping with other like-minded believers

 
When done consistently over time, these disciplines enable us to know Jesus more intimately and deepen our relationship with Him.  It does not happen overnight, but it happens much faster than we think!
