Don't Park In "I Don't Feel Like It"
We may not always “feel” like spending time with Jesus by reading His Word or talking to Him. Maybe that is because we are so focused on Jesus using us that we neglect the One who called us in the first place. I hate to admit it, but I have been guilty of that very thing myself.
Or maybe we are in a spiritual dry spell, which is causing a perpetual lack of motivation to read or pray – so we stop doing both altogether. Can you relate to that phenomenon?
Whatever our reasons are for not “feeling” like spending time with Jesus, we all experience this unfortunate reality from time to time.
The important thing is for us not to stay parked in the place of “I don’t feel like it,” but to recognize where we are and push through it to get back on track with Jesus.
My encouragement to you today is not to focus on your feelings – but on doing what is vital to your spiritual health, well-being, and ultimate fruitfulness whether you “feel like it” or not.
Start fresh today by seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33a), draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8a).
Are you in a place of not “feeling” like spending time with Jesus? What has helped you push through those seasons in the past? Let me know in the comments because what you share today might be exactly what Jesus uses to help someone else break free!
