Don't Let The Past Hinder Your Present

Do you think you will always be “far” from God as a believer because of your past? Are there specific criteria to be “close” to God?

…Some claim you must be sin-free.
…Others say you must do good works.

But the Bible says to be close to God, we should draw near to Him, and He will draw near to us (James 4:8).  It also says that once we placed our faith in Jesus for salvation, we became a new creation where old things passed away, and everything became new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Since that is the case, how can our past keep us “far away” from God?

The truth is it cannot.

So, the next time Satan tries to keep you bound to your past, remember this:

Jesus wiped away all your sins
Jesus set you free
Jesus calls you His own
